what is the warrenty of battery

i have t42 laptop and the battery died ...... the laptop is under warrenty but the battery is not under warrenty. lenovo told me that the warrenty of the battery is dead the laptop is under warrenty.... here is cut and paste >>Status: Expiration date: Location:

Buy a new battery, there's nothing else to do.

No battery is ever covered by more than a year, unless there's a recall, but you're late for that one as well.

Battery warranties are quite short, for a reason: they lose their charge capacity over time through normal use. I had an UltraBay Slim battery that lost 48% of it's charge capacity in a year, and I neglected to call to ask for a replacement before the warranty expired. Nothing I could do but ... buy a few more from an eBayer.

you might go to the lenovo battery recall site.
i got a brand new 9 cell battery here on the forum and checked it out just for curiousity. the bar code came back as a recall, so i filled out the online form and lenovo fedex'ed me a new battery overnight.

can't hurt to try...
