A few days ago, I purchased a Thinkpad R61i (being discontinued) at Office Depot locally.
The price was $734.50 minus a $60 rebate for a total of $674.50 + tax.
Here are the specs:
15.4” WXGA anti-glare LCD display
Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5550
1.83GHz, 2MB L2, 667MHz FSB
2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 memory
160GB 5400 rpm HD
Windows XP Pro
DVD+/-RW Double Layer Drive
802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN
3 USB 2.0, 1 Firewire, 1 S-video
4-in-1 card reader
Fingerprint reader
Best bang for the buck that I’ve seen recently. Having XP Pro is a huge plus. Crapware is minimal. The wireless LAN worked flawlessly with no problem. Go for it!
I fixed the fingerprint reader to not start up on boot. I'll use it in the future, though.
