Wireless Problems... HELP!!

My wireless suddenly stoppet working. It can find my SSID and try to connect to it, but it can't get an ip adress from my router.
I feel like I've tried everything. I tried changing my routers configuration back one month where I KNOW the wireless was working.
Same problem.

I tried installing and uninstalling every possible driver on lenovos website for my laptop. I tried to restore xp to another restore point. I tried changing settings in registry and almost every settings in xp that could have something to do with this.
SAME FREAKIN' PROBLEM!

Now I had it. How the **expletives removed by moderator manually ** an this happen like this.
I low level formattet my harddrive, rebuilded it.
Installed XP, installed all the drivers I need.
Same problem!

My lan works great, but when I try to connect to my wireless it sais: Acqauring network adress, and after 2-3 minutes: "Limited or no connectivity" and when I check it, I can see that my laptop haven't been provided with an ip adress.

I tried bringing 4 different laptops into my home... they all work perfectly, and can get online. So it is not my wireless, nor my router that is causing the problem.

Anyone? I am ready to throw this piece of crap out of my window.... Please stop me.

You've lost your mind. What you've done, e.g. low format hdd, reinstall XP and change settings in registry etc, are completely unnecessary.

If you don't cool down youself, you won't be able to think and do anything correctly.

Actually, if you follow just a few simple rules, everything could be back to normal in a minute.

1. reboot

2. open Access Connections and reconfigure your wireless profile (even just retype the wireless key/password).

3. let Windows to repair the wireless connection if you don't use Access Connections.

At last, if you want to throw your "piece of crap" out of window, make sure nobody is outside before you do it. Otherwise you could end up in jail for a very stupid reason.

Do you really think I've formatted my entire drive to solve a problem and not think of rebooting my pc first? Come on.

If you haven't firgured it out yet.. I'll tell ya.

I allready tried those things in the first 5 minutes after I started having problems with my wireless.

I though I woulnd't wirte a novelle with every bit and detail about all the OBVIOUS things I've done to solve the problem..
But it seems like I never take people like you into consideration.
It might have accoured to you that I am a bit frustrated after 2 weeks of problems with my wireless, so stupid comments like

They are not necessary.

I am gratefull for your 3 step guide but I've allready tried obvious things like that.
But if you have some other things that might solve my problem I would be gratefull if you would share them

Please watch your language. I know it can be frustating debugging a problem like this, but cursing is not going to solve anything ... apart from showing you in a bad light.

Some tips for your problems:

1. Fully uninstall access connections and see if you have the same issue with the default windows wireless manager.
2. If so, try reseating your wireless card and see if the problem persists.
3. A faulty wireless card might not be out of the question, so if all else fails, you can try using another compatible card, but that would be my last resort.

Get back to us here and we'll try to solve this issue ...

Oh i even though you mentioned your wireless router is not the issue, try this anyways.

Go and disable the security in your router - test that out.

Upgrade the firmware if one i available.

Give your machine a STATIC ip in TCP/IP config and see if it connects.

I've allso allready tried that.

Could it be a faulty network card?
And if it, what do I need to do to send it to repair?`
Can I get lenovo to send me a box for it?

Call IBM, depending on your country's policy they'll handle the case by either sending you a replacement part or asking you to send the machine to depot.
