ECP, BIOS, Video, WiFi updates critical?

I have been reading the various messages regarding ECP and BIOS updates with interest. The problems some of you have run into makes me apprehensive about applying the updates. But then there are some success stories. ThinkAdvantage has been reporting ECP 3.04 and BIOS 3.23 are available. My T40p is currently at BIOS 3.21 and ECP 3.04. Would the BIOS 3.23 provide a signifcant advantage in performance?

ThinkAdvantage is also reporting an update for my ThinkPad Video ATI Mobility-RADEON/FIRE GL series (currently at 8.133.2.1.1-061116a-040094C) and for the IBM Dual-Band Wi-Fi Wireless Mini-PCI Adapter Driver (currently at 4.1.2.156).

My T40p seems to be operating just fine despite the update notfications screaming at me.

Is it worth the risk to apply all these updates?

each update has release notes so you can pick and choose as you best see fit based on the fixes and/or enhancements described.
