BIOS Flash - T40

I have BIOS version 3.06f and Embedded version 3.03. I would like to update BIOS to new version. Is it safe?
Which version of BIOS should I choose - 3.12 or 3.13 (if there is Embedded version 3.03 on my T40) ?

Once you have a full charged battery plugged in, I think it's safe to update your bios. An easy way to update the bios is to download the non-disk version which will safe you lots of time, I would say.

I have my T40 running with the latest Bios and Embedded Controller versions with absolut no problems. Flashing the bios is a peace of cake for Thinkpads, really nothing to worry at all.

For BIOS 3.13 or higher, I afraid it might need Embedded version 3.04.
I had my BIOS upgraded to 3.13 last week; works really fine.
