How many USB devices can be connected at the same time T41?

How many USB devices can be connected at the same time on a T41?

All the devices that are cnnected keeps disconnecting and reconnecting for a certain period of time.

The T41 comes with only 2 USB ports. I've connected a 4 port hub in one of them (external mouse, keyboard and a USB drive) and the other ports is connected an external hard disk.

Is there an issue for that model? or need to upgrade drivers.

I have Windows XP SP2.

Thanks.

If I were to take a guess, I think the USB port on the T41 cannot supply enough current to all the connected devices simultaneously. Try a powered USB hub that can supplement the laptop's USB port for power hungry devices.

Edit: From what I recall, T41 has USB 1.0. If that's indeed the case then current ratings for USB 1.0 are much smaller than USB 2.0 and hence your problem.

The T-41 has USB 2.0.
I think your right , the usb port on the T41 cant supply the power to all the used ports.
You could start off with just one item and see how it works. Then add another, and another until the problem shows up.
I would try what Syedj said and try a powered usb hub.

Like everyone has mentioned, the voltage will be the limiting factor. If you use powered hubs, you can connect a theoretical maximum of 127 devices, including the hubs themselves.
