Just got my R61 with SUSE

#1 Post by atechnica » Mon Jun 30, 2008 9:57 pm

Awesome!

Everything in SUSE works and makes sense. To do advanced tasks, I will need to learn how to use the terminal and terminal commands, but the software suite is impressive. I might even just stick with it instead of installing XP.

The screen. I ordered the WXGA+ 14" widescreen. I know there has been a lot of talk about how bad the screen on these and the T-series is supposed to be, but honestly, unless I got a special screen or something, I can't see what all the fuss is about. The screen is better than my t40p's was, better than my 600e, better than my girlfriend's $2000 HP, and so on.

The build quality is good. some people have complained about a cheap feel or whatever, but I assure all of you that this is built much better than the t40p was.

Any questions?

I agree, the R61 14" models are very nice and well built. I've also seen the SUSE model, it's a very good alternative to XP - it only took 7 years to release!
