X31 laggy typing

#1 Post by Saysana13B » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:27 am

I just received my X31 yesterday. Its what I expected.

I only have one problem.

As I am typing, sometimes the letters show up slowly, slower than i am typing them.

Its as if the X31 is slow to show the letters, and i am typing to fast.

If anyone knows what I am talking about, does anyone have a fix? A driver? Something to d/l from IBM or Lenovo?

It has 1.5gigs of ram, I thought it would be good for speed, I mean I don't expect a laptop, especially an X3x series, to respond so slow when I type.

Try searching the forum on "keyboard lag". There's some interesting posts.

You have to update Keyboard Customizer utility.

THANKS! That should have been my first try.

Access IBM also won't upgrade itself when I ask it too, is there a fix for that?

I found it on my own and downloaded it and installed it.

The laggy typing still occurs, but not as often.

I'll try the one you gave me just now fasterbybike

EDIT: Its the same one I installed before, I still have some lagg.

Any other ideas?

Is there some other process running that is hogging system resources. What does the task manager show ?
Otherwise have you done a malware scan recently ?

I just received the laptop fresh on Monday.

There really is nothing that takes up any CPU use, besides Firefox. Maybe I should switch to Opera.

EDIT: I actually went into Access IBM and un-installed the utility and works fine. I guess I fixed the problem!
