One more happy T23 owner!
First of all, I want to thank you all for the great forum we have here. I have been reading as much as I can on my machine and was able to upgrade the HDD without any problems. Thank you!
A few day ago, a friend gave me a mini-pci Inter 2200BG card with the two antennae that came from a deceased Dell machine. After reading the counteless posts on this particular card, I grabbed the Hardware Manual and proceeded to install the card and the antennae. It was not that bad, following the hardware manual and within a couple of hours, I had one cable routed around the ultrabay and the other by the right LCD hinge. One antenna was noticeably shorter than the other and would not reach any further.
The machine booted up without any 1802 or other errors since I had already updated the BIOSes when I installed the new hard drive. I had a small problem: it saw the linksys network but would not negotiate a connection with the latest Intel drivers.
After some more reading of these forums, I found somewhere a link to an old IBM/Intel driver. I cleaned the newer drivers and installed the old ones. I am happy to report that it connects flawlessly and as a matter of facts, I am typing this while connected to my AP (11b).
What it turned out to be was that the current transmit power never went over 10-12 mW with the 11.xxx drivers, no matter what settings I changed. Once I installed the 9.0.4.8 (Lenovo/IBM 1ywc54ww.exe) drivers the card transmit power went up to 31.6mW and was able to complete the connection.

The normal T23 antennae lead routing is gathered and taped in the middle of the LCD cover aluminum sheet, thru the right hole of the left hinge cover cut out area, between the I/O board and under the MB r then to near the miniPCI slot.
This is a very short route and you may be able to get both leads to reach.

I'll have a look at it when I reopen the chassis to reapply thermal grease to the fan/heat sink assembly. I did not have any when I routed the antennae and only cleaned the fan from dust with compressed air.
