Is the W500 equivalent to the T500, just with a more powerful GPU?

I wish Lenovo would also sell 1440x900 screens in 15.4" displays, much better for reading in XP

Love it -- "Système d’exploitation" If that doesn't describe Windows I don't know what does.

I wonder what the battery life with the P8600 will be as compared to the T series Penryns?

Programme of compulsory purchase of laptop
Description and micro-cost laptops

We are aware that buying a micro-laptop represents a considerable investment in the life of a university student. It is for this reason that we negotiated the best terms with our trading partners.

The selection of notebooks for a curriculum in architecture is done with concrete criteria. What is most important is the performance of the computer and its ability to perform the tasks which are submitted and throughout his studies at the bachelor's degree in architecture. Each model laptop includes a mandatory international guarantee of 3 years.

The choice of performance expected to take place depending on the applications that are used in the program in architecture. The Windows platform is preferred because it is used on the labour market in the field of architecture for the operation of software AutoDesk (mainly AutoCAD).

The demands of work in computer architecture are major processing computer, 3D modeling, photorealistic rendering, computer-aided design, 3D animation, among others. Correct me if I´m wrong, but the FireGL 5600 would outperform the GeForce 8600 with the same amount of memory regarding AutoDesk applications like AutoCad, Maya or 3dsMax :) Why don´t they go for Quadro FX cards like in some business modells of HP :?:

RAM: 2 x 2 GB DDR3 1066 MHz (max. 4 GB)
I thought the max memory on the W500 was 8GB?
T60 (2007-66U): upgraded to C2D T7400, 2GB DDR2-667, Hitachi Travelstar 5k250, 14" SXGA+, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 (sold).
T61 (8891-CTO): C2D T7300, 4GB DDR2-667, Hitachi Travelstar 5k250, 14" SXGA+, Nvidia Quadro FX 570M (128MB).

I think the chipset supports the memory up to 8GB, but currently no such RAM (4GB module of 1066 MHz) exists in the market.
