Client security solution doesnt recognize my password

#1 Post by paddk » Fri Jul 04, 2008 4:54 am

Has anyone an idea how to solve this?

Due to graphical chip problems my MB has been replaced and all was just fine. After sometime, when I runned system update I guess, this problem appeared:

After each reboot I saw message 'authentication failed' and I couldn't log on with my fingerprints only using password. After I logged on and desktop appeared, CSS 7 rolled up and asked again for authentication. Each time I type my password CSS just doesnt accept it.

I called back to ibm service and the man told me to reinstal fingerprint softwer, or additionaly reinstal CSS. I did both but whats that? Authentication failure message no more appears and I am able to log on with fingerprints, but still CSS rolles out as first and ask for password, which as before, doesn't accept. I called back again and the man sent me 2 links about clearing the chip and what to do after MB has been replaced.

What should I do as first to solve this terrible problem - clearing the chip or associate the new chip with the keys? I am even not sure if the keys are still available since I reinstalled CSS. I don’t want to put more gas in the fire and stay completely out, therefore I'd appreciate any help. BTW, I found I can't use power manager, it says - only admin has this rights.
