docking bay connections

Both docking bays (62P4551 and 74P6734) have a connection for a floppy disk. Does anyone what fdd fit the connector?

IBM sold a FDD for the 600 series which I believes works with this socket. You can also get a docking station to IDE cable which will connect your ultrabay 2000 FDD (pre T4x) to the T4x docking station socket. The cable is a parallel port cable with a plug adapter. The paralle port on the docking station will work but I don't think the parallel port on the T4x works.

Correct. I use these external floppy drives on several different port replicators and docking stations. The FRU for the housing itself is 05K6187 and you can install a 600-series floppy like the FRU 05K8874. You can easily find them on eBay for ~$15 ($4 for the hardware and $11 for shipping ). Just be sure and check that the Ultraslimbay floppy drive is actually included with the housing / caddy. If you are patient (or buy in bulk) you can get them for under $10 each. Another source to check would be an electronics surplus store in your area, craigslist or here in the Marketplace.

All the docking stations and port replicators upto the T4x/R5x series has the small floppy disk connector.

The Ultrabay 2000 FDD cable terminates in this small floppy connector. There was an adapter in the cable kit that allows the Ultrabay2K FDD to connect to T2x series parallel ports. I am not sure other parallel ports work.

The 600 series FDD housing discussed above also works.
