I have been lost my adminstrator password.

#1 Post by Prolehma » Sun Jul 06, 2008 1:39 am

I have IBM thinkpad 365XD with Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. But i have one problem. I only can login as a guest because i don`t remember my adminstrator password. I cant upgrade Windows to the newer versions ( Win 98 or 2000) because im not adminstrator. So, is there solution to find out that admin password or reset it?

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

Generally we do not allow discussions of bypassing passwords; specifically the ones built into Thinkpads, but also Windows login passwords. Previous threads have been locked and/or pulled from public view. The best advice we can give is: Google is your friend :) .

I think Prolehma meant that he doesn't have his NT administrator password. Google can indeed help you with that.

You might also try booting the Win2K install CD. Win98, IIRC, is not on the upgrade path, since it can't use NTFS. You'd have to do a clean install, restoring any files and re-installing any applications.
