Powermeter icon disappeared from taskbar - want it back

#1 Post by Nolonemo » Tue Jul 08, 2008 5:27 pm

I have a T61, did a clean install of XP Pro, with Lenovo drivers and applets, including hotkeys and power management. The battery icon showing the % charge appeared in to the left of the notification area on the Windows taskbar, just like it should. System is running great.

A couple of days ago the battery icon disappeared (possibly after installing an XP update), and I can't get it to reappear (I've checked the applicable box in the Lenovo power manager applet). The windows battery icon still shows in the notification area....

Any ideas? Thanks.

you went to Power Manager and click Options and check the box and it still doesn't show you you were saying?

Right. And if I reboot and go back into Power Manager and click Options, the box is still checked but there is no icon on the taskbar.

Have you tried going to the Battery Maximiser application? I think that's the one you really want. The Power Manager/Advanced tab controls the tiny Windows icon (plug/upright blue battery) in the system tray, not the big green battery icon with the percentage of charge.

Hi,
I would suggest you doing the following (at least it worked for me when I had a similar problem a few months ago): uncheck the box, reboot, check the box, reboot (the uncheck part is the important one) :) Hope this helps.

Cheers
