560z with a flickering screen

I have a 560z that i put a 560x TFT display in. When i got the 560x 2 years ago, the screen had a slight flickering problem which got worse when the x died and i got a z with a broken screen off of ebay. Throughout the 2 years i have had this computer, i havnt been able to figure out whats wrong with the screen. Sometimes it flickers worse than others. but it can get very annoying once it gets going Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? thanks in advance

It sounds like the florescent tube is going. I'm assuming you used the inverter off the 560Z. If you used the inverter off the 560x then you might want to change that.

If i remember correctly, i had to use the inverter that came with the x. The Z i ordered came with a broken screen. I think the lcds were slightly different because i remember the plug that gives the lcd power being larger on the x assembly. I got another 560z a couple days ago, but i found out when it arrived that the case was in bad shape. so i took the screen, the 6gb hard drive, and the cover an put them in my old one. Now instead of having a flickering screen, this one has a bluish-green line on the right edge of the screen. I tested the 560x lcd that i put on the z i just got and it still flickers but im positive this line wasnt here when i had the screen on it thanks for the advice though, i might buy a new inverter for it
