600E Max RAM

#1 Post by derke92 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 12:07 pm

Hi,

As I am new I have been looking through the forums for the 600E and I have just noticed that it states, at the top of the topic that the max RAM for a 600E is 556Mb.
Looking through the IBM specs they state the max is 288, which I have in the one I am using (I find the 600E much more fun to use than my desktop), so could someone out there in Thinkpadland put me straight please?

Regards to all,

Derek.

Welcome, Derek. The 600E does take two 256MB modules, but that may require a BIOS upgrade. Also, IBM said that there were a few 600Es that would not take the 256MB modules, but the experience here is that they do, IIRC.
