Lenono's solution to the problem WAS pushed out very quickly though. There was a software patch which slowed down the graphics unit to prevent overheating. (I don't recall if it slowed it down all the time, or based on heat, only that it was a patch for that specific problem.)
thats interesting regarding the patch you mentioned. i was really thinking long time if i should take the risk to buy a well equipped t61p but up to know i only concluded to stay with a t60p wide which i still didn`t purchased.
did you test this patch? ... may also doing a longer running stress test including gaming and gpu intense apps? ...
but however ... returning to the initial topic, lenovo may missed the point to participate as they where still too much in the process to set up their general support services in those days. i recently read an article that lenovo lost the high ranks in support, now being listed on a 5th and 6th place in comparison to former ibm`s long standing first three places in support services.
