PII 400 in a 770ED?

#1 Post by landsmarra » Fri Jul 11, 2008 2:20 pm

Hello again all!

As I didn't do sufficient research beforehand, I ran into the dreaded "192" problem when putting a PII 400 into my P233MMX 770(no suffix). Will a PII 400 work for sure in a 770ED that already has a slower PII in it? I know Speedstep isn't an issue until PIII but wasn't sure if there was a cache issue or anything else?

Thanks!

Yes. A PII 400 is a straight swap for the PII 266 that came in the 770E/ED models. I'm running a PII 400 in my 770E.
