If anyone is looking for MS Student and Teacher it was $XXX at Dell. Not sure if that's still the case today

mod edit: academic price removed per forum rules (it's #2 on the list).

If you're talking about the MS Home and Student Edition, it won't suit erik's requirements as it doesn't include Access.

For others looking for Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote, the link to the sale at Dell for MS Home and Student Edition is http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/prod ... u=A0754540

As I understand it, the licensing for this edition was changed to not be restricted to students but is restricted to 3 computers in a single household for non-commercial usage.

oh, i saw "student edition" mentioned and edited the price above.   i didn't know it wasn't restricted to ID-holding school/university students/teachers.

Well, it used to be, but I think that changed with the 2007 version.

If you are a student, and you school participates, you can get MS Access through the MSDN program. My school (Southern Illinois Univ) doesn't offer Office, but I got Access 2003 and 2007 from them for free.
