FS: T40 keyboard, for systems with 14" LCDs

#1 Post by dc_slim » Sat Jul 12, 2008 9:46 pm

Almost new T40 keyboard for machines with 14" LCDs. Very minimal shine on the spacebar, otherwise appears unused. Comes with four mounting screws and cat's-tongue type trackpoint head.

FRU 39T0519
Parts No. 13N9988

This is the version with the little blue rubbery springs under each key. The typing feel is very responsive, very tactile. I believe this is generally regarded as the best of the T40 keyboards. Manufactured by Chicony, perhaps? Whatever the case, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Asking $30 shipped and insured within the CONUS. Paypal preferred.

Mod Edit Pic warning rule ignored. Broke image tags - Harryc -

In the thread FOR SALE advert. guidelines.. **AMENDED** Feb 25 2008, in the post of Wed Nov 02, 2005 6:50 am, BillMorrow wrote:

According to Keyboard service parts - ThinkPad T43/p, the 39T0519 is a NMB. Where was it manufactured - in China or Thailand? (look on the label at the bottom). Reason for asking this is that the Thai-made NMB-keyboards are considered "the best" by many (but not all!) users - see e.g. the thread T42 Thai (NMB), China (Alps) Keyboard Impressions (long).

FYI, your 14.1" keyboard will fit any 14.1" T4x (but won't fit any 15") - see the thread **SOLD**: 14.1" T40/41/42 Keyboard.

Sorry, I knew this was the one that many people preferred, but couldn't remember the manufacturer. The label says "Made in Thailand," so it is indeed an NIB. Sorry for the confusion, and for sticking big pics in my original posting. Edited to change them to links.

Thanks, Johan. Your input is much appreciated.

You're certainly most welcome! By the way, your 39T0519 will also fit in any 14.1" R5x (R50e, R51, R51e, R52) ThinkPad - as stated on the page Keyboard service parts - ThinkPad R50e, R51e, R52.
