Welcome to the forum!
I don't think the version of battery maximer available for X3 series supports setting hcarge thresholds. That feature was availble only from the T6/X6 series as far as I know.
ps: you english is just fine

Indeed, it does not have the hw to do it. See this list for when it got added to thinkpads:

It's very bad information. I previous laptop (x40) had this option and I found it was very helpful to keep battery in good condition.
In the fact, the x32 I have just bought is not as good as I expected. It is a little disappointment.
Laptop is very fast and this is unquestionable argument. But now I'm understand that x32 is very old contruction. Latest BIOS is dated on 07.2005.

yeah, i guess i wasn't very specific.... i'm basically saying two things:
1) i thought that the embedded controller handles the threshold settings.
2) if that's the case, then maybe the OP has an older firmware than you do and may gain the functionality by updating.
of course, i could also be completely wrong.

I had no such option or function on my X32 as well. I believe it was updated to all latest TP software and drivers. Just shipped it to a buyer and so can't take a look any longer. So, it is interesting that proaudioguy sees this option and some of us don't. We are missing....what?

My 1.8 system board was replaced with a 1.7 a couple weeks ago. The option is still there. This doesn't refute your claim, just an FYI. My 2.0 X32 is sitting at home waiting for me. I'll check it out and report back in the next day or so after I open the box and get it setup.X32UseR wrote:W think that depends on MB revision... i have upgrade all software to newest versions ... and I don't have this option...
as far as i understand it, battery thresholds are supported with the power manager applet:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-61583
but not with the battery maximiser applet:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-44226
either of which is supported on the x32.
hth someone.

well, i don't know then. both v1.40 from the link i provided above, and v1.30 before that have worked for me.
the reason i asked was because you specifically mention battery maximiser in your first post. your x32 is listed as the first 'x' supported with power manager. wish i could have helped...
