Doesn't look like a real leather "skin" ... you'd be more happy with the feel of the rubberised coating that thinkpads come with by default.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX

Dunno about that, keeping these lids clean has bugged me for many years, since my first TP, a 365xd.

I have a small bottle of eyeglass cleaner and a microfiber towel in my laptop bag, used just as much if not more on the lid than on the screen!

And the corners always seem to wear off and become shiny.

My son's IdeaPad has a brushed textured plastic finish that looks good and does not show marks and fingerprints nearly as much, and will never wear off.

I was rather doubtful it would really be leather, nor do I particularly want leather. The also offer a 'wood' skin that looks exceptionally gaudy, IMO.

Ha. They do look good in the pictures. The leather isn't leather, and the wood isn't wood, and the covers are described as "stickers." The price is right, but I live in the south, and sometimes the TP gets exactly as warm as I am. Heck, sometimes warmer.

I'm concerned that sometimes things don't unstick as well as they stick.

Let us know if you decide to try one.

It's a textured sticker and if you like that sort of thing, you are the cancer that is killing the Thinkpad.

That was unnecessary and not the kind of comment we look for in this forum. Please read the Rules in my sig, paying particular attention to the part about no personal attacks, and adhere to them.

Little offense taken here, possibly because I don't fully understand the comment....or rather the association. But I do have to respectfully disagree, here's why:

I'm not really sure if I like this lid skin or not. I don't own one. Opinion not formed yet. I may or may not buy one. Undecided. In general, I guess I'm the guy who carefully removes most all of the stickers from things I own. This includes 'designed for' and 'inside' stickers.

I've owned well over 10 thinkpads, some bought new, others bought for a song, a couple were bought in pieces. I like to think I've made a slight contribution here over the years. People ask me what they should buy, I often tell them to get Lenovo. So I think I'm a supporter, laowai. No cancer here!

The "attack" was general, not directed at anyone specific. :)

I don't know, as the TP gets used it's inevitable that the "skin" is going to wear around the edges, and eventually probably will start to peel up a little around the edges. To me, that would look worse than the most scarred TP cover....

Cover scars are badges of honor.

Nolonemo,

Yea, that's true, but the cover is removable, replaceable and disposable, and the lid underneath may then still look new or nearly so. Helps resale value a lot when things are in excellent shape cosmetically.

I am certainly worried about peeling at the edges however. That's actually the main reason I inquired about whether anyone has bought one of these. If laptop bag friction causes the skin to peel within a few weeks, it's clearly a waste of money.
