Is a Targus ThinkPad Education BackPack right for a R50?

#1 Post by J Dausman » Wed Dec 22, 2004 1:49 pm

I'm looking at a backpack for my R50 and the Targus ThinkPad Education BackPack http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=TPEB01 appears to be a decent match. However, while Targus says it fits all Thinkpads, the R50 is 1.5x10.5x13 and the Targus is 2x9.75x15. It looks as though the Targus isn't deep enough.

I'd appreciate any recommendations for a durable, Thinkpad compatabile backpack, or any experience with the Targus.

Thanks, Jack

Went with a Belkin Executive Briefcase

#2 Post by J Dausman » Mon Jan 17, 2005 3:13 pm

A local computer retailer made a mistake and priced a $150 Belkin Notebook Executive briefcase (with shoulder strap) at $35. While it seems like a strange alternative to a backpack, what I was looking for was something that could secure the laptop without too much expense. This choice is a happy compromise.
