T42: Indicator Lights Not Working

As I've lamented before, I'm the clown who ran over his T42 a couple months ago.

It's pretty much up to snuff now - working fine thanks to a cashectomy. But I have one remaining issue. Only the leftmost indicator light - the wireless light - is functional. None of the others - power, disk I/O, etc. light up.

I've tried a spare inverter without affecting the problem.

Is this likely to be the ribbon cable, or could something more subtle be going on?

Most of the times I've seen this symptom, it is actually the motherboard, and I've not been able to repair it. Certainly, though, if you ran over the machine, you could have damaged the cable.
