can you add turbo memory to a system ?
can you add turbo memory to a system ?
I am 99.99% sure you cannot but not 100% sure. have user that wants it but it appears to only be in build to order models and he cannot wait. we usually purchase t61p 64608xu model which does not have turbo memory. Can it be added? anyone know any info that it really helps? the system comes with 4gb ram and Vista64.. thanks

It can be added.
I'm actually selling mine (ideally trading for some RAM).
I didn't notice too much improvement, and after the sale of my EEE, I had a spare 16gb SDHC card lying around, so I just put it in to use for ReadyBoost. 4gb beats 512mb.

Turbo memory is useless. It's done nothing but cause BSODs so I wouldn't waste your time. Especially if you already have 4GB of system memory.
If you want one, PM me I'll send it to you. Mine has been collecting dust for a couple months now.

i put it in t61p and vista64 and windows says it isn't formatted and when you try and format it says it can't, any ideas?

based on others i decided to try a 16gb edge sd hc card, other cards work ok.. called vendor and they say its bad hardware so i'll see if the replacement works

Restore to Factory original -- No XP disks
Greets all,
I'll be selling a T60p soon and need to wipe my system
clean -- usually this means format / new system install --
but in this case I have no disks.
I've been told all the original installs reside on my HD
somewhere.
Anyone know which button to push to reformat, wipe
the machine clean, so I can sell it?
Thanks.

F11 or Thinkvantage blue button
watch when it boots. you should see press F11 or Thinkvantage blue button. Thinkvantage is best. As long as you have the hidden partition still intact you can restore everything from there. just ensure you backed up files first, you have options of what you reinstall, its pretty good stuff.
