Need help with X60s, Dead after BSOD?

#1 Post by Stevesoura » Tue Jul 22, 2008 8:38 pm

Ok, surfing the net and downloading some music while all of the sudden I get the Blue screen of death. Not sure what the deal is so I shut it down by pressing the off button. While turning it on, I see the green lights loading up and just stop. The lcd does not turn on and no response. However, I do feel the fan, that is it. I wait a couple of minutes to see if it will respond. When nothing happens, I do another turn off and this time I get four beeps at start and no response. Any help or anything I can try

x60s 1.6, 100gb 7200rpm, 3gb ram.

According to HMM, you need a new system board since your security chip has gone nuts. I certainly hope that the machine is still under warranty.

Good luck.

Im pretty sure your right about the board. It is still under warranty. I hope they wont give me a hard time for fixing this. I hate hassles. I just notice lenovo is closed now so will call tomorrow. This puts me in a depressing mood now. This also means I cant play WOW at work now, I have to actually work.

I wanted to update. Fast and Good service by Lenovo/IBM. It turned out to be the memory ram that I was installed. They replaced it with a new memory and works fine now.
