Where to download Windows Vista Ultimate (x86 and x64) from?

#1 Post by agarny » Fri Jul 25, 2008 4:01 am

Hi,

I was wondering whether someone would know of a (working!) link from which one could download Windows Vista Ultimate (both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions)?

I have a T61p, so I do have a product key, just no DVD with Vista on it...

Cheers, Alan.

Got it. Thanks a lot for that! One more thing though: would you have a similar link for the other version? :)

Too bad! :(

I guess we have to thank Microsoft/Lenovo for not providing us with the DVD...

Well, I guess those links don´t exist anymore, so one can´t find anymore legal sources in the web where to download it from. I remember there was a link (from some IT magazine or the like), but it was closed due to legal issues with M$.

If you end up downloading ISOs through eMule or Bittorrent or similar, just make sure you get the SHA1 hash of the .ISO file after the download and before you burn it. With the hash, do a google search: If a dozen or more links turn up, you got a good image and can use it with no risk whatsoever.
Regards, Martin
