Intel 82566MM Gigabit Network Driver won't install properly

I recently encountered a yellow exclaimation mark beside my Intel 82566MM in Device Manager. Not sure what has changed. It was working fine a few weeks ago and now I get the yellow exclaimation mark. I haven't installed any new applications. I did install 3 Windows Security Update, but even after uninstall the Security Update, and tried re-installing the network adapter driver it give me an error message that it could not load the proper drivers. The status in device manager is "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". I've downloaded the driver from the Lenovo site and tried manually installing the driver and still get the same status as above in device manager. I know the ethernet jack works, I went into R&R and was able to surf on Opera via ethernet. No restore point far back enough to use, I was stupid not to make any backups. So it is either a solution here or a restore to factory.
