My X300 freezes up intermittently and can't seem to trace the cause. Seems to happen regardless of the application(s) running. Can't even go to Task Manager at all! Had to perform a hard reboot all the time!

The Windows Admin Event Viewer doesn't show any cause for the problem either.

Some other members of this forum have complained about the same problem as well - Does anyone have any advice to resolve the issue or to trace the root cause of the problem?

Would really appreciate any advice on this....real pity that this fantastic laptop has a basic stability issue.

Btw, I use the X300 with Windows XP Pro and 2GB RAM. No UWB / WAN.

hi,

had the same issue, tried everything :
killed lenovo apps : did nothing
killed all antivirus apps : did nothing
swapped wifi card : did nothing
swapped memory : did nothing

swapped notebook itself : problem solved

honestly, i have no idea about what is the cause of those freeze, heard thousands theories about memory/wifi/etc.... nothing was right

i suspect some hardware/mobo problem after all

get a swap, no other way to solve this freezing issue, all other stories are bs, there is no software fix for hardware related issue
