[solved] T42 autologon

#1 Post by dtm » Sat Jul 26, 2008 4:13 pm

hallo to everyone!
today i've formatted my thinkpad T42. without considering windows activation problems, after an update with windows update i'm not able to do the autologon anymore.
software installed were .net framework 1.1 and 2.0, then two hardware drivers: the monitor and the intel pro/1000 mt mobile connect, although those two were already correctly installed ("They should be a sort of updates" I thought).
rebooting comes the surprise: i must log clickking on my icon.
i've tried to fix the problem with tweakui, and everything's good for just one boot: then the situation comes back.
i decided to uninstall .net frameworks and use the old drivers but that not solves.
boot time has increased up to 1'30'' / 2'' -
help

thank you very much, I solved the problem!
The whole situation was caused by .Net Framework 1.1. I found solutions talking about using TweakUi and controlpassword2 but both failed.
Modify the registry was the right thing to do

In order to speed up boot time, I disabled ASP services with services.msc.

bye bye!
