fan error

#1 Post by gzz » Mon Jul 28, 2008 12:51 am

I got a fan error when I boosted my x60s recently. After I pressed ESC and entered OS, I can hear a slight sound like "Ge Da".

I think it is time to clean or replace it (2.5 years old), althought I always kept it clean.

Any advice? Thx.

It sounds to me like you already gave yourself good advice. Follow the Maintenance manual for disassembly. Hold the fan blades still with a pencil while blasting with compressed air.
