[Background]
I got a x60s from ebay (sealed, NO manufacture warranty) and a x61t from lenovo. after used both for some time, I'd like to share some of my own experience with other owners (or potential buyers). I previously owned a Dell 1501 and a Dell 700m.
[Configuration and Price]
X60s: L2400, 512MB, 40GB, 8 cell (61x.xx after Cashback)
X61T: L7500, SXGA+,1GB,80GB,FP Reader,BT, 4 cell (14xx.xx after coupon and cashback)
[Dimension and Weight]
x60s is a real ultraportable. x61t, on the other hand, is near 3.9lb with 4 cell, and a bit larger, especially in thickness (I should say that, the thickness of x61t is more "uniform")
[Screen]
the x60s has a XGA screen, the brightness is ok at maximum, but kind of dim when goes even one or two levels down. the screen is very thin but feels very sturdy. I also feel that the Thinklight is quite useful when typing in darkness.
the x61t has a SXGA+ screen, very bright, the viewing angle is great. however, there are things I do not like:
1) the SXGA+ is quite unusable on a 12" screen, I simply do not have such a great eyesight. Initially I just can not work with that, after I adjusted the DPI settings, increased the font size in the Display Settings, Fine tuned the ClearType display and switch to firefox (which has a great zoom function), I feel much better. If i am going to get another one, I will definately choose a XGA screen.
2) the screen does not look that "clear" compare to conventional LCD display.
3) NO THINKLIGHT
the wacom digitizer works great but accasionally does need a re-calibration.
compare to x60s, x61t's screen is quite thick (active digitizer?), also because of the buttons dedicated to tablet function, the screen is also larger in other dimension.
[hinge]
different mechanism.
As a conventional laptop, x60s's hinge feels great.
x61t: lots of fun to play with. I would say that it is pretty good consider that it only have one "hinge".
[Keyboard]
Both are very good for ultraportables. I like x60s's keyboard better, to me the x61t's keyboard is a little bit stiff.
[Battery Life]
X60s is just amazing. with 8 cell battery I can surf for hours without any concern.
for X61t, I rarely use battery. when powered by battery only, the charge drops quite fast, it uses a 4 cell though.
[Other thought]
I know I am not comparing apple to apple. if I am going to choose an ultraportable laptop, there is no doubt that I will go for x60s/x61s, on the other hand, playing with x61t gives me a lot of fun and new experience.
A PERSONAL comparison between X60s and X61T
As an X24 owner, I knew I'd be giving up a bit of that ultraportable lightness when I picked a tablet, but with the 8-cell it's heavier than I expected it to be.
The X61 Tablet is still, in my opinion, quite portable, but it weighs about as much as a friend's 13" Macbook, itself a pretty dense machine. It can't really be grouped with the rest of the ultraportables, at least not for weight.

X61 Tablet - 1.6GHz C2D, SXGA+, 1GB RAM, 100GB HD, Vista Business.
i have other laptops but i'll be honest i never use 'em
