no 1082 T43 - not working for me

#1 Post by MitchG » Mon Jul 28, 2008 4:12 pm

Just wondering if anybody else has had as many issues with the 1082 error message. I took apart an IBM T42 and used its wireless Intel card in a T43 that had it's wireless card stolen and oddly enough, it's not supported! Regardless, wondering if any of these updated disks worked on th T43 as I've read that the DOS 1082 and the No-1082 CD image do not work on the T43s.

Also is there any other way to reprogram the mini-wireless cards hardware ID codes to get around this?

You mean the "no-1802"
Dont know about the patch on a T43,never had one.
But i have used the no-1802 patch on a T41 , A31P , A22P , A21m , X21 , X30 and never had a problem.
With no miniPCi wireless card in the slot i ran the no-1802 cd.Then shut down the system and installed the wireless card. Booted up windows and installed the drivers.
But i did have some problems with some atheros cards.besides the 1802 erroe theres another error message that comes up.
Others may no more about it....

EDIT: Oh ya welcom to the forum's ......

I don't think no-1802 ever worked, even now. The only alternative is changing the id, either on the card (I believe it's been done Atheros cards before, dunno about Intel) or in the BIOS (which is what forum member zender's been doing for T60's and the like).

The T43 stores settings in a different eeprom. The program doesn't work.
