Memory Speed on T40

#1 Post by ryan1212 » Mon Jul 28, 2008 9:07 pm

I upgraded to a 1gb stick of corsair DDR 333 today and took out my old DDR 266 stick.

I have checked and the 1gb stick is running at 266 only. Is their a way I can make it run at 333? I thought this machine supported DDR333...

FYI I do have the latest bios and embedded controller update.

T40's only do 266. T41/T42 support 333.

In other words, no.

The only way to run that stick of RAM at full speed would be to stick it in a motherboard from a T41/T42 which uses the 333MHz FSB.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though. You just added a gig of RAM to your system so you should be seeing a general performance increase.
