T30 backlight fluctuation issue

#1 Post by madkat » Wed Jul 30, 2008 4:07 am

The machine is the one in the signature

It has the following random problem: when running on battery, the backlight has some fluctuations in intensity - barely noticeable

it's not dependent on how hot the laptop is...

the display connector has been thoroughly cleaned when i replaced the bottom casing, and on AC it doesn't present the above mentioned problem...

anyone has any ideas?

I've read a great deal about how LCD panels are affected by air pressure and altitude and have to concede that the evidence would suggest a link. However I have an older HP laptop which displays similiar behaviour. My T30 doesn't have this issue. It wouldn't be difficult to believe that your invertor might be showing its age.

i thought about the invertor - but why is it doing so only when running on battery?
maybe not enough current? (the battery is ok, lasting about 2 1/2 hours)
