Adding an internal USB hub to X40

I've seen on the 'net how people are adding internal USB hubs to their EeePC and other UMPCs.
This would be very useful for the X40, as it only has two external ports, and despite its small size there seems to be spare space inside.
With a 4-port hub I could have:
- a bluetooth dongle (my old bluetooth CDC doesn't work in the X40)
- cordless mouse dongle
- two flashdrives with RAID0/striped.
- HSDPA modem (hmm, that's 5. Cue Spanish Inquisition jokes.)

I've tested with an external hub, and seem to get good speeds using two flash drives on the same hub simultaneously.
The first trick is where to find a spare USB port to attach it. One way would be to splice the hub under an existing external port, but that would leave only 3 new ones.
Would it be possible to use the lines going to the docking connector? Is the ultrabase pinout public information?
The chipset appears to have four USB buses, and the two external ports are both on the same bus. Perhaps more are accessible on the mainboard?
So I'm wondering - has anyone looked into this already, or have some info that may help please?

Then there is the matter of getting all those RF signals outside the magnesium case, but one step at a time.
BTW, the laptop is a couple of months out of warranty
