T61 Battery Questions.... 4 cell standard or 6 cell upgrade.

Got my new T61 which came with the 4 cell standard battery.. I use my laptop 20% mobile, and 80% docked, I don't do too much heavy stuff on it when mobile, small quotation software and surfing... how long will the 4 cell last, and is the 6 cell upgrade for $50 bucks worth it. I have a friend who has a few Brand New 6 cells for $50 each...

I use my computer about 50% on battery and i would definitely choose the 6 cell or even 9 cell battery.
How long it will last really depend on several things and impossible to give a accurate answer without some more info. Like what OS do you use...i assume either XP or Vista? What is the model number (xxxx-yyy) of this computer since then we will know the exact spec? There are several different T61 models and how much battery it will use depend of the CPU, GPU, HDD, LCD etc. Also several settings might give you a longer battery life like screen brightness, performance settings, idle settings etc. Do you use wireless when on battery, bluetooth? And the last thing that could make a difference is how you use the computer. So even if someone have the exact same model it might be hard to give you some accurate numbers, but without the spec. i would say it's impossible. If you find your model on the lenovo website you should find info like how long the computer last running on battery even if this number might not be very accurate either.

Why not use the computer and see how long it last and then decide if that is good enough or not? But I would choose the 6 cell without any doubt and $50 i find to be cheap and worth every penny even if i only get an additional 20 mins.

$50 is an excellent price for a new 6 cell battery, assuming it is a genuine Lenovo/OEM battery. I, personally, would keep my hands off of it, if it is some generic, made in China battery.
