T22, dock and external graphic

#1 Post by Logon.exe » Mon Aug 04, 2008 2:39 pm

Hello everybody,

I've got a problem with my IBM T22 ( PIII 900 MHz, 256Mb RAM, BIOS : 1.12 16ET32WW, Win XP Pro SP3) and IBM Thinkpad Dock (2631). I want to use graphic card on PCI slot. I've got Radeon HD 2400 Pro PowerColor. When I set it as primary graphic card in BIOS, I can only see black screen and one long BIOS voice. When I boot computer on AGP graphic it is all right. I tried to set Radeon as default Windows card and turn off AGP card. Then I didn't see icons and windows on desktop. I see only wallpaper and start menu. I tried to set something in desktop utilities but I can't open properties of it. When I turn off AGP card and reboot system, Windows starts in 640x480 resolution and 4 bit colour depth. Installing drivers didn't help. I downloaded the latest ATI CCC drivers, PowerColor drivers for my card and Omega drivers. They didn't work with card.

I tried to boot computer with old S3 Trio64V2/DX and I've got the same problem with set up PCI graphic card in BIOS.

It is possible to use laptop screen with external graphic or I must use external monitor??
What is the best graphic to my dock? I look for Rdeon 9200 on thinkwiki. GeForce FX5500 will be good??

Best regards
