DVI via dock for t400?
DVI via dock for t400?
We are considering upgrading our t43's to t400's, but it was unclear if they will support our 24" Samsung monitors at 1920x1200 resolution via the DVI connection on the dock. I called Lenovo sales and after being on hold for ten minutes he came back and said that he thought so, but wasn't sure.
Anyone have any ideas?

Apparently there'll be DisplayPort on the T400 dock too.

I am wondering not just if it supports DVI, but DVI at 1920x1200. I found this in on the lenovo website for the t400:
Video: Digital Visual Interface (DVI) for digital displays is supported on selected models supported through the optional ThinkPad Advanced Dock, ThinkPad Advanced Mini-Dock, or ThinkPad Essential Port Replicator stations at up to 1600 x 1200, 60 Hz supported resolution.
Although it is hard to understand why my three year old t43 would work, but not the latest notebook.

I'm afraid I can't tell you any specifics but that is what I heard. And if I remember correctly from a very credible source that could have even been Lenovo. That was after my disappointment at discovering that the 14'' T400 would not like it's sibling possess a DisplayPort on the main body. It's sort of a consolation.lew2 wrote: What part number is this dock? I thought the T400 was using the same docks as the T61's, i.e. the 250410U Advanced Mini Dock and similar?

I think it's got to do with what graphics card is powering the output. So I would say that the discrete option would have a higher chance of doing this than the integrated option.gknight75 wrote:I am wondering not just if it supports DVI, but DVI at 1920x1200. i think the Intel 950 in a T60 can go that resolution and i know the T61s can do WQXGA 30" LCDs. I would assume 1900 x 1200 (WUXGA) should be doable in the latest machines.
