T30 Dead mobo ... ?

#1 Post by FreddyH60 » Tue Aug 05, 2008 2:07 pm

A few days ago, my T30 died : I shut if off (power off) the evening before, nothing suspicious. Next day at boot all status lights (disk to power) lid up, fan starts, no image (not even a glimpse of backlight) and after a few secs only power lights stays on with fan spinning. Battery still charges.

I removed all ram and at startup not even a beep sequence ...

Can anyone confirm my diagnostic of a dead mobo ?

Thanks in advance.

Try this:

Remove the battery and adapter, hard and media drives, and press the "power" button 10 times in a row, holding it down for 10 seconds each time, and 30 seconds the last time.

Plug in the adapter and try to power on.

If nothing changes for the better you most likely need a new board.

Good luck.
