Anyone try these? With my X40 1.4 Dothan coming soon, I'm looking for something which can slip easily into my backpack!

The cover is like one of those threaded binder covers that some kids use for high school. It's pretty well built. It's not as shiny as in person -- the camera's flash is responsible.
The fit is nice although it does have some room for play. I put two pieces of foam in there to serve as padding. Works great.

Looks like it will just fit an X40 with the 8-cell battery.
Hmmm...I may invest in one once they get some in stock.

Oddly enough, I got mine today.
The dimensions are quite unexpectedly larger than what was described on their webpage. It seems better suited for a laptop thicker than the X40. I don't have my X40 for another 2 weeks, so I'll have a better review later.
I hope all turns out well!

Well on their website it states the thickness outside is 1.9" and internally 1.4". And IBM states the X40 is .86-1.06" thick so it shouldn't have come as much of a suprise.
Plus the Vyper is not designed only for the X40. It should however work just fine for protection. You don't really want a sleeve to fit super tight. They should have a little play room.

I tried one with an 8 cell battery and I was not happy. Ended up with a Shinza Zeroshock case which is perfect.

I'm in the same boat... I'm not willing to give up my 9 cell for a nice cover though.

How crush-resistant are these cases?
I don't need something bombproof, but I'd like to not worry about smushing my laptop and having to find a "safe place" for it when I travel.

I believe there is a setting for this that can be applied in the Thinkpad Power Manager. I'm not sure if your X32 comes with this software but it did come with my X41.
