R40 Temps??

#1 Post by pt1209 » Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:51 am

Can anyone recommend what would be the ideal temp to run my ThinkPad R40? At the moment I have TPFanControl keeping it around 34-44C.. To warm or cool??

The ideal temp should run in the 40's range. It depends on what you want to achieve, a cooler laptop regardless of fan noise.
In my case, I want a silent dead laptop, so I set the fan threshold to activate when the CPU/GPU reaches the 52C mark.
I might manually set the fan to stay at Level 3 (3400rpm) when gaming to prevent hearing the fan a lot.
