i200 Need to upgrade ram

Alright so i just got this laptop for free from a friend. It has a 32mb pc100 sdram 500mhz, 6gb hardrive. I was going to just throw a 128mb chip in but i was wondering if i could pull of a 256mb? The overview for this laptop says the max is 192mb but i have heard people have pulled it off before but i just need some advice thanks!

Ah i dont even care, i just ordered the 128mb off ebay for 10 bucks hopefully it can give my laptop a boost.
