T42 Hard Drive Upgrade

#1 Post by chrisnyc » Sun Dec 26, 2004 7:37 pm

How easy is it to remove the T42 hard drive? Do you remove a screw and slide it out? If so, can I purchase a primary hard drive carrier (the whole thing needed -- case, any adapters, screws, etc) from IBM? What is the part number for this? Thanks.

go here

I am not quite sure what you mean by primary hard drive carrier, if you
mean an external case, search ebay... there are plenty out there for a very
cheap price.... don't really need to go with an IBM externalcase

Thanks wyu30, that link is helpful. I see that you just remove a screw and slide out the hard drive. There's a piece called the "hard drive cover" that attaches to the hard drive. Do you know or have a link to where this is available. I'm not talking about an external case, just the hard drive the computer comes with.
