WMV icon problem

#1 Post by t-rex » Sun Aug 10, 2008 3:25 pm

WMV icon problem.

i reformatted my t-23 and used a XP pro N corparate version.
i down loaded media player11 from microsoft. when i moved my movies back on it the only way they display in a folder is with the
WMV icon. this is a problem because none of them have a meaningful name i could aways tell what they were by the icon which was part of the movie file. is this what Bill did to the N version when he lost the lawsuit? is there a way to fix it?

Thanks
T-Rex

i unistalled media player 11 and tried to put on a copy of media player10. every thing worked right with this version on my other corparate XP disc the format utility won't go bigger than 131 gb though it's why i did not use it.
it would not let me put media player 10 here's the error message:

This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, view the information at the Microsoft web site.

i'm guessing i am stuck with it unless i do it over with a differnt XP disc
