T61p problems with very bad sound quality

#1 Post by josch0815 » Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:21 pm

Hello,

I reeeealy had some problems with my new t61p, first it was very slow, and suddenly it told me to contact my vendor because of serious problems. Did so, they changed the main-board, so far so good. After that the speakers made some weard sounds opening a window. With help of support I coudl fix that and install the latest drivers.

My problem now is, that the highs are almost scarry, and I have no clue how possibly arange the sound.

Whould be very thankfull for some hints what to do!

thanx for any kind of help

Josef

Hi josh

Could you post your machine type that is under the bottom of your T61p. Are you referring to problems with the playback of sound, music only.
Could you provide more info to help us idenify your problem, like OS used, installed apps, etc.

Welcome to tp forums.

t61p machine type / sound quality / WinXP SP2 / drivers

#3 Post by josch0815 » Tue Aug 26, 2008 5:28 am

Hello Agarza, thank you for your help.

The machine type of my t61p is 6457 - CTO S/N L3 - T3455 08/03

The problems with the sound quality I notice especially when using skype, and listening to music. High sounds get very scratchy, with music it is disturbing, and with skype it really is a problem with understanding.

The OS I use is Win XP professional Vers. 2002 service pack 2.
Originally I got the t61p with Vista, but with downgrade-discs provided by lenovo I downgraded to xp, and as i noticed problems with slow speed I totally reinstalled xp, speed still is quite slow.

The drivers I use for sound are:

sound max integrated digital HD Audio
driver vers. 5.10.1.5520 , dated: 08.02.2008

Very thankful for helping to solve my problem!
kind regards

josef

Why not call Lenovo to get a new speakers assembly, sounds like its a hardware issue.
