On Screen Display doesn't work

#1 Post by tonyyore » Mon Aug 11, 2008 9:47 pm

I installed Vista Business with SP1 on my X61, and Hotkey with OSD. But OSD seemed not working after reboot. I tried older versions of Hotkey but it still doesn't work. Anyone has an idea about this? Thx~

It appears that SP1 is changing permissions for some registry settings. I have heard that by installing all programs you want before installing SP1 this problem can be worked around.

Of that doesn't work, I'm afraid you may need to compare registry settings.

Having said that, I just recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and I managed to install it without issues, I believe.

tonyyore, did you install the system interface driver found in the driver matrix? It may not seem obvious but it is needed for hotkey and all other ThinkVantage utilities to work.

If you use ThinkVantage System Update to install the hotkey drivers, it should also install the system interface driver, as TVSU understands dependencies.

It's the Productivity Center's problem. I reinstalled the productivity center and solved the problem...

Thanks. I'm not an updater. I usually only update when there's something that needs fixing and this worked for me.
