X40 Not Recognizing CF Drive in Addonics Dual CF Adapter

#1 Post by mrbrodes » Tue Aug 12, 2008 11:53 am

I followed the procedures outlined in othe threads. I can get the addonics/CF combo to be recognized via USB adapter but cannot get Windows XP or Ubuntu 8.04 to recognize the drive during install. The regular HD works so it isn't the controller. I'm running bios 2.08 and controller 1.62.

I do have the pins aligned exactly the way the HD inserts.

Any ideas?

does it have a voltage regulator on it? that might be a problem if your cf expects 5v and it's only getting 3.3v from the motherboard.

X40 Addonics problem SOLVED

#3 Post by mrbrodes » Tue Aug 12, 2008 12:27 pm

Turns out I didn't have the pins seated properly. I had to disassemble a portion of the bottom cover to gain access. Now it works great.

Thanks for the ideas.

I had the same problem and I was equally sure it is ok. Glad you made it :).
