getting Access Connections to work again

#1 Post by Eamon » Tue Aug 12, 2008 10:31 pm

I have been using Windows XP native wifi manager for several months and I wanted to go back to Access Connections.

I installed the latest version and then tried to use it. I went and unchecked "use Windows to configure my wireless", but when I go into AC it shows no signal, and when I try to search for a network it says the wireless is inactive (do I want to activate it?). I say yes, but nothing happens. There seem to be a number of error entries in the AC log, but I haven't started trying to interpret them.

It works fine again when I go and turn on Windows native management.

Does anyone know what do I need to do to give AC control of my wireless? I'm sure I've done this before, but I can't remember whether I'm missing something.

When you update Access Connections, you may be required to update the Wireless driver. Some people have problems with AC, so what I would recommend is you uninstall AC, and your wireless driver, then install the wireless driver first, then AC.

Good luck!
