FS: Thinkpad x40 (Compact Flash/SSD Upgrade) - $400
Hey all, I'm looking to sell my Thinkpad x40 notebook and thought I would try here before moving onto Ebay/Craigslist/etc. This isn't any ordinary x40 though - it uses two Compact Flash cards instead of the incredibly slow and clicking 1.8" drives. It also comes with a 4cell and 8cell battery.
Processor: Intel Pentium M 1.4GHz LV
RAM: 1.24GB (upgraded with new 1GB stick)
Hard Drive: 4GB 300x Silicon Power and 16GB 200x Silicon Power
Graphics: Intel Extreme Graphics II
Screen: 12.1" XGA (1024x768)
OS: Windows XP
Ports: VGA, 2x USB, modem, ethernet, SD-card, PCMCIA, microphone, headphone, docking connector
Battery: Includes both 4cell Li-ion battery and 8-cell battery
Wireless: 802.11b/g
The compact flash/ssd upgrade has been fantastic and is much better than the 1.8" drive (in terms of reliability, speed, and noise). I use the 4gb for Windows and the 16gb for documents and programs. The computer boots really quickly and programs load fast.
The computer is in good condition with normal wear. There are a few blemishes/pressure spots on the screen, but they don't make the computer any less usable. The system has a clean Windows XP install with the CD-Key on the bottom of the computer. Keyboard is in great condition.
The computer itself is fantastic, I multi-task like mad (itunes, word, firefox, pdfs, powerpoint) and I've never had any major hang-ups. It can easily serve as your only computer.
I'm asking $400 plus shipping for the computer. When shipping I will send with tracking and insurance. I would be happy to do a local transaction as well if interested (in the Detroit area). Please send a PM if interested.
I am happy to answer any additional questions as well, just let me know. Thanks!
